Arlene says that singing with a roomful of people is one of the great joys of her life. Though she agrees that this is true of many genres of music, her favorite songs are traditional from the British Isles and North America. She hopes that you will come join the circle and lead a song or request one. For this workshop, she encourages you to sing a song with a chorus, but it is not required. Songs of sad love, songs of happy love, songs of parting, songs of meeting, songs of unrequited love are welcome.

Traditional songs generally are those that are old and whose author is unknown. That means it has passed through many hands before it has reached us. Please try to lead a song that you have practiced and that you know well, but if you need a little help with the words that's OK.
