The generosity and sponsorship of the San Francisco Folk Music Club, The City of El Cerrito Arts and Culture Commission and Windrush School have made the first annual El Cerrito Free Folk Festival possible.
Festival Director and San Francisco Folk Music Club Secretary Ken Hayes founded the event this year to create a diverse and lively gathering that would promote the arts in the East Bay.
Windrush School
With a full endorsement from the Arts and Culture Commission, Windrush School also co-sponsors the Festival by kindly donating its historic facility, situated in the hills of the East Bay.
Established in 1923 as the Chung Mei Home to help orphaned and abandoned Chinese boys, Windrush is now a K-8 school serving the City of El Cerrito. With its new LEED certified green building and a spectacular view of the San Francisco Bay, Windrush is the perfect venue for the festival.
The Festival Program
The El Cerrito Free Folk Festival will present a full schedule of performers, workshops and much more. There are several main stages, as well as a number of smaller performance areas for indoor and outdoor jams.
Workshops will be held in several classrooms, along with dedicated areas for the Family program.
