For those who already know basic guitar chords on the first three frets: it's time to venture up the neck! Using a few of the most useful chord shapes we'll play easy swing standards and western classics. We'll keep it simple. Prerequisite: ability to play a barred F chord fairly easily. Bring your guitar, a flat-pick and a music stand if you have one.

Sylvia Herold performed for 17 years with swing trio Cats & Jammers. She now plays with the popular celtic/Grateful Dead jam band, Wake the Dead. She also performs vocal duets with her husband, bassist Chuck Ervin. Sylvia has recorded four albums of folk songs.
